WEDDING CAKE PORTFOLIO

Weddings/elopements/engagements… we’ve got this! We can’t wait to create a memorable wedding cake that will have your guests stealing cake off abandoned tables (I promise, it happens!).

Your wedding cake is so much more than just flour, eggs and butter. We believe that the most important thing about your wedding cake is that it actually tastes good!! It probably seems really obvious, but after scrolling Instagram, Pinterest and wedding blogs for what feels like forever, sometimes the look of your cake can feel like it’s more important than the actual taste. Don’t be fooled, this is the most important cake you will ever order. You want it to be delicious! You want it to be memorable! It pays to do your research and find a cake decorator who is as passionate about what’s inside the cake, as what it looks like on the outside. It might surprise you that there are actually a large number of cake decorators who are not licensed with their Council (this is illegal) so make sure you ask the question early when doing your research.

At Confetti Cake Co. we bake all our cakes from scratch, using the highest quality ingredients that are sourced locally where possible. We’re very proud to say that the inside of our cakes taste as good as they look on the outside and we’re open to creating new flavour combinations and trying new things to make sure it’s what you want! We recommend you purchase a cake taster box if you’d like to taste the proof in our pudding!

There is a misconception that wedding cakes are expensive. When you consider the size of the cake you’re choosing (it will probably be the biggest cake you’ll ever order) and that your cake is designed specifically for you, baked fresh, delivered and set up carefully at your venue at a specific time/date, the per head price is quite small compared to the cost of meals and drinks and even guest favours. If you consider how much you pay for a single slice of cake from your local cafe, that has probably been baked in bulk and frozen, our suggested budget of $8-$10 per head for dessert slices doesn’t seem unreasonable.

A large percentage of the cost of a wedding cake (almost 50%) covers our overheads - Council license, insurance, ingredients, electricity, water, internet, website, packaging, tools and equipment etc. The remaining portion covers our time to design, shop, bake, clean, visit the flower markets, coordinate with your venue/planner, tax/gst, labour and profit.

If you’re working with a specific budget, please don’t hesitate to let us know what you’re working with and we can make suggestions and work within what you have allocated.
